Our Story
2018

How Marquee TV Started

It all started with two realizations.

1. There are so many awesome performances happening in the world, and more people deserve to see them.
2. It can be intimidating to dip your toe into the world of performing arts, but it shouldn’t be.

So, our founders set out on a mission to inspire the next generation of art lovers and create a platform to showcase the world’s most extraordinary productions for everyone to enjoy wherever they are. And so Marquee TV was born.

2019

We Love Our Partners

Our small team set out to find the best performances of ballet, dance, opera, classical music and theater from artists all over the world. We searched for performances from innovative artists like Akram Khan and evergreen classics like The Royal Ballet’s Nutcracker to find the perfect mix of content for art lovers and beginners alike.

We also created our first exclusive partnership with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and later the London Symphony Orchestra. Together we brought their outstanding concerts to audiences around the world who might not otherwise have the chance to see them.

The Year That Shall Not Be Named

Adapting and Changing

As venues began to close, opportunities for traditional performance capture disappeared, but artists and creators didn’t stop working even if it was in their own space with no audience. So in stepped Marquee, anxious as always to support the performing arts in whatever way we can.

We began collaborating with innovative filmmakers and a few dance and opera companies, including Opera Glassworks, and encouraged them to think outside the box to create more digital-friendly productions. Think more movie, and less sitting in the audience watching a show. Together we produced a digital production of The Turn of The Screw, and the result was fantastic. Singers got a chance to expand their acting chops and viewers got a more cinematic experience of Britten’s haunting opera.

Today

Keeping the Dream Going

Today, we’re continuing our mission to encourage and inspire. Our collaborations with exclusive partners have grown and we now work with not only the LPO and LSO, but also The Washington Ballet, Atlanta Opera, and Terminus Modern Ballet Theater. Together we’re building an incredible community of artists and arts enthusiasts. Join us for our next chapter.

Welcome, to the wonderful world of Marquee TV.
